Irene Geurtjens (nee Magriplis)

Irene Geurtjens (nee Magriplis) has extensive experience in Human Resources and People & Culture roles. In 2022, they became a Founding Member of Excellent, a platform that provides people-leaders and HR practitioners access to the tools and inspiration they need to create thriving workplace communities. In 2021, they became People and Culture Manager at Teach Starter, a company on a mission to spark more “aha” moments in the classroom. From 2018 to 2021, they were People & Culture Manager at Capital[b] Group, where they built the People & Culture function from the ground up. From 2016 to 2018, they were HR Business Partner at LLamasoft, Inc., managing the HR function for the UK, European and South Africa regions. In 2015, they were a HR Consultant at DAU DRAEXLMAIER AUTOMOTIVE UK LIMITED, where they worked in partnership with business areas to improve organisational and individual performance. In 2014, they were Human Resource Manager at Fusion Retail Brands Pty Ltd, managing the full spectrum of HR across the multisite business. In 2013, they were Human Resources Advisor at LEO Pharma, providing support to the 3 client groups in all facets of HR and IR. From 2011 to 2013, they were Human Resources Advisor at Hilton Brisbane, where they were a key business partner contributing to the overall company strategies. From 2007 to 2011, they were Human Resource Coordinator at Bartercard Australia, providing generalist HR and Training support to Bartercard's National Office and Franchisees.

Irene Geurtjens (nee Magriplis) holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences from University, majoring in Human Resources & Psychology. Irene also has a certification in Lead Change Effectively from Dale Carnegie Training, obtained in August 2016.
