Ulises Duran

IT Support at TEAMSOS

Ulises Duran started their work experience in 2021 as a Cyber Spartan Fellow at San Jose State University. In this role, they oversaw the education of five mentees in computer science concepts and provided support and instruction on the use of Scratch. Ulises also troubleshooted issues and debugged codes for the mentees. Additionally, they collaborated with peers to create presentation materials.

In 2022, Ulises joined the Merced County Office of Education as an Information Technology Support Technician. Here, they represented the IT department as the first line of contact with clients, responded to concerns and work tickets, and maintained computer systems and tablets across multiple sites. Ulises also provided technical support to end users.

Ulises also worked at Taco Bell in 2022 as a Manager. In this role, they communicated effectively with customers, managed shifts, and led a team of employees. Ulises also ensured efficient operations by taking inventory counts and collaborating with co-workers.

In the same year, Ulises was a Fellow at Colorwave, a non-profit organization. As part of an 8-week program, they gained a deep understanding of startup culture, venture capital, and the innovation economy. Ulises had the opportunity to participate in speaking events with industry professionals.

Ulises's most recent work experience in 2022 is as an IT Support representative at TEAMSOS (Special Order Systems). In this role, they provide instructional technology support and excellent customer service to inmates at Valley State Prison. Ulises offers both remote and on-site support at sister sites when needed.

Ulises Duran has an Associate of Science - AS degree from Merced Community College District, where they studied Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics. Ulises also holds an Associate's degree from Berkeley City College. Furthermore, they studied Industrial and Systems Engineering at San Jose State University, although no specific degree was mentioned. Ulises has obtained a certification in Technical Support Fundamentals from Google in October 2022.
