Dr. Manuel Rippel

Dr. Manuel Rippel has a diverse work experience. From 2020 to present, they have been working at Tecan as the Global Head of Service Portfolio & Digital, overseeing the digitalization and business development of service products. Prior to that, from 2016 to 2020, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). From 2012 to 2016, they were a Consultant & Researcher at ETH Zürich, where they managed industrial consultancy projects and specialized in strategizing production plants. Dr. Manuel also has experience as an Intern Lean Operations at Hilti Group in 2010. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at Werkzeugmaschinenlabor, WZL der RWTH Aachen from 2009 to 2010 and at Werkzeugmaschinenlabor, WZL der RWTH Aachen from 2007 to 2008. Earlier in their career, they served as a Second Lieutenant (Reserve Officer) in the Bundeswehr (German Federal Armed Forces) from 2004 to 2006.

Dr. Manuel Rippel completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering from ETH Zürich between 2012 and 2015. Dr. Manuel also served as a Visiting Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Center for Transportation and Logistics (CTL) in 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Dipl.-Wirt. Ing. degree in Business Administration and Economics from RWTH Aachen University from 2007 to 2011, and a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university from 2005 to 2011. Additionally, they were a Visiting Student at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, specializing in Industrial Engineering, from 2008 to 2009.
