Alejandra Perez serves as the Community Relations Director at San Ysidro Health since January 2020 and is an Instructor at both Metropolitan State University of Denver and the University of Denver. At Metropolitan State University of Denver, Alejandra teaches courses on Advanced Integrative Practice: Leadership, Social Policy & Social Justice, Research Methods, and Privilege, Oppression, & Power. Previously, Alejandra held the position of Government Relations Manager, where a comprehensive government affairs strategy was developed to further the university's mission, resulting in significant funding. Alejandra also worked as an Associate at San Diego State University's Social Policy Institute, contributing to research on Adverse Childhood Experiences and the development of resilience toolkits. Prior experience includes serving as the Director of Public Policy at Cultivando, where strategic advocacy initiatives were implemented, including the oversight of a Latino Engagement Taskforce. Alejandra holds a Master’s of Social Work with a focus on Macro Practice and Leadership from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
