Ian Riches

Ian Riches has over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry. Ian is currently the VP of Automotive Practice at TechInsights since January 2023. Prior to this, Ian held the position of VP of Global Automotive Practice at Strategy Analytics from March 2019 to January 2023, where they provided strategic analysis of automotive electronic systems, semiconductors, and sensors on a global scale. Ian also worked as the Executive Director of Global Automotive Practice at Strategy Analytics from March 1996 to March 2019, where they were responsible for producing comprehensive reports on the global demand for automotive electronics systems. Ian's career began as a Press Officer at MTL Instruments Group PLC from October 1994 to March 1996, and they also worked as an Assistant Editor at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers from August 1992 to October 1994.

Ian Riches attended Winchester College from 1984 to 1989. Ian then went on to study at the University of Cambridge from 1989 to 1992. At Cambridge, they earned an MA degree and specialized in Engineering, focusing on Turbo Machinery, Fluid Dynamics, and Internal Combustion Engines.
