Jackie Z K Yip

Jackie Z K Yip is a seasoned professional in environmental science and risk management, currently serving as the Safety System Risk Program Lead at Technical Safety BC since November 2021. Previously, Jackie worked as a Coastal Risk Scientist at Natural Resources Canada from March 2019 to September 2021 and held the position of MEOPAR Fellow within the Marine Environmental Observation Prediction and Response (MEOPAR) Network from August 2014 to September 2019. Additional experience includes roles such as Consequence Analyst at Kerr Wood Leidal Associates Ltd. and PhD Candidate at The University of British Columbia specializing in extreme weather impacts and climate adaptation. Jackie has contributed to various projects aimed at enhancing community resilience to climate-related risks while holding positions at Fraser Health and the United Nations University. Academically, Jackie holds a PhD in Resource Management and Environmental Sciences from The University of British Columbia, an MSc from McGill University, and a BSc from the University of Cape Town, along with a certificate in Machine Learning from BrainStation.
