Amir Degani is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in the field of robotics, particularly within civil and environmental engineering. Serving as an Associate Professor at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology from August 2011 to May 2019, Amir led the Civil Environmental and Agricultural Robotics (CEAR) Lab, focusing on the application of locomotion and manipulation theories to robotics in engineering disciplines. Prior to this, Amir was an Assistant Professor at the Technion, building a new lab dedicated to similar research. Amir's earlier roles include Postdoctoral Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, where research centered on dynamic motions in miniaturized mechanisms and the structural properties of biped mechanics. Amir also held positions as a PhD Candidate and Master Student at Carnegie Mellon, concentrating on dynamic locomotion and robotic tool design. Additionally, Amir gained practical experience as a Mechanical Engineer Intern at CardioRobotics, Inc. and as a Mechanical Designer at Rafael. Amir holds a PhD and an M.Sc. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University.
