Martin Bunček

Managing Director at Technology Agency of the Czech Republic

Martin Bunček's work experience begins in 1997 when they worked as an R&D Director for GENERI BIOTECH s.r.o. until July 2013. Then, starting in August 2013, they served as an Expert advisor for GMO and the handling of highly hazardous agents and toxins for the same company.

In 2005, Martin became a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague, a role they held until February 2012.

In September 2008, Martin joined the University of Pardubice as an assistant professor, where they supervised and lectured in various courses related to molecular biology, genetics, and biological materials analysis. Martin also occasionally taught courses on IP protection, know-how/technology transfer, and innovation processes for SMEs and academia.

Finally, Martin joined the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic in October 2009, initially as a member of the Board and later as vice-chairman. In October 2017, they became the Director of the agency and then promoted to Managing Director in March 2018.

Martin Bunček completed their undergraduate education from 1991 to 1995 at the University of Pardubice, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Biology and Chemistry. Martin then continued their studies at the same institution, earning a Master of Science degree in Analysis of Biological Materials from 1993 to 1998. Afterward, they pursued a Ph.D. degree in Pathobiochemistry and Xenobiochemistry at Charles University from 1999 to 2005.
