Richard Nielsen has extensive experience in the technology and manufacturing sectors, having served as an Instructor for tool and die apprentice training and as a Director at the Technology & Manufacturing Association since 1982. Prior roles include Director of Engineering at IMS Buhrke-Olson from January 2005 to August 2021, Sr. Tooling Engineer at Flextronics from 2002 to 2005, and a Tool Engineer at both Lightning Metals and Flextronics during the same period. Additionally, Richard held positions as Manager of Automation and Plant Manager in Mexico at Dial Tool Industries from 1999 to 2002. Richard Nielsen is an alumnus of Roosevelt University.

Through the years, members established programs and services that would help their businesses grow and prosper, train their employees, and provide medical and retirement benefits. As a result of these efforts, TMA has grown into a 1,000 member not-for-profit organization of precision manufacturing and supplier companies in the greater Chicago area.
