Ben de Lisle

Assistant Director of Computer Science Education at TechSmart

Ben de Lisle has over a decade of work experience. In 2008, they began as a journalist and sub-editor for NUX, UKZN Student Newspaper. In 2009, they became an English Teacher for KZN Language Institute. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a reporter for Media24 (Pty) Ltd. Ben then returned to KZN Language Institute as an English Teacher from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, they became an English Teacher for EPIK (English Program in Korea). In 2015, they worked as an English Teacher for Heart for Change. In 2016, they were a Business English Instructor for Learnlight, as well as a New Partnerships Representative and Lead for UberEATS at Uber. In 2017, they were an Account Executive for Apex Learning. Finally, they have been the Assistant Director of Computer Science Education for TechSmart Inc. since 2018.

Ben de Lisle obtained a Bachelor of Social Science Honours in Media Studies: Journalism from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Social Science in Media Studies/Marketing from the same university in 2012. In 2008, they obtained a Teaching English as a Foreign Language certification from the UKZN Language Centre.
