Ana Simões

Ana Simões has extensive experience in the field of medicinal chemistry, currently serving as a Specialist Chemistry Lab Technician at Tecnimede Group since June 2015, focusing on drug discovery and development projects. Prior to this role, Ana worked as a Researcher Trainee at Luzitin, S.A, where the synthesis of new chemical entities for cancer and dermatological treatments was a key responsibility. Ana's academic background includes a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from Universidade de Coimbra, complemented by significant research work on porphyrins and photodynamic therapy during PhD studies at both Instituto de Ciências Nucleares Aplicadas à Saúde and CIC biomaGUNE. Additional experience includes roles as a Scientific Researcher and a Researcher at Universidade de Coimbra, contributing to projects aimed at pharmaceutical applications in oncology.
