Gabriela N. has a diverse range of work experiences. In 2018, they founded and became the CEO of Teens Tutor Teens, a non-profit organization aimed at closing the educational gap and empowering teenagers. Gabriela also served as a Project Leader and Permanent Partner for GlobalGiving, leading a group in achieving fundraising goals. Furthermore, Gabriela was selected as a Ron Brown CAPtain and participated in the Guided Pathway Support Program, providing advice and assistance to high school students. At Vanderbilt University, they worked as a Physics Learning Assistant and conducted various neuroscience research projects. Gabriela also held leadership positions in the NAACP, including President and Treasurer of Vanderbilt's NAACP chapter. Additionally, Gabriela was a CGI U Fellow at the Clinton Global Initiative and a Harvard-Amgen Research Scholar at the Joslin Diabetes Center. Gabriela was involved in the Vanderbilt Student Government as a Second Year Senator, drafting and co-sponsoring bills. Lastly, they volunteered for the Baltimore County Public Schools Division of Climate and Safety, working on curriculum development for the Mind Over Matter Campaign.
Gabriela N. obtained their Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from Vanderbilt University from 2020 to 2024. Gabriela also briefly studied Sociology at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2021. Before attending Vanderbilt, they participated in a Foundations of Neuroscience program at Harvard University in 2019. Prior to their college education, Gabriela earned a High School Diploma with a focus on STEM from The Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) between 2016 and 2020. Additionally, in 2020, they studied African Studies and English at The University of Alabama. Gabriela has obtained several certifications, including Legistative Ambassador Welcome Training from the American Cancer Society and Summer Virtual Venture into Management from Harvard Business School, both in 2021. In 2020, they completed the RCR for Bio/Physical Sciences - VUBPS program at CITI Program and obtained honors in the Financial Markets course from Yale through Coursera. Gabriela also received certification in Making Contact: A Training for COVID-19 Contact Tracers from the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, and completed the "Is starting a non-profit right for you?" program from Candid in 2019. In 2018, Gabriela completed the On-Ramp to AP*Physics C: Mechanics program on edX. Gabriela also has a certification in COVID-19 Contact Tracing from Coursera, although the specific date is unavailable.
