Appan Ponnappan has over 25 years of experience in the software industry. Appan began their career in 1995 as a Technical Lead at Sasken. In 1996, they moved to Motorola Software Labs as a Technical Lead. In 2000, they joined the Institute for Infocomm Research as a Research Associate, where they led a team of 5 people in the implementation of Policy-based Management System for QoS in the Internet. In 2004, they took on the role of Project Manager at Siemens Communication Software, where they were instrumental in getting the business for Policy Control Server (PCS) product team of 10 people and setting up the team from scratch. Appan was also the technical lead for the proposal & implementation of Hybrid policy server for both 3G and Packet Cable access networks. In 2006, they joined IBM India as an IT Architect, where they were the co-creator & lead architect of Web 2.0 based Collaboration Platform for maintaining current information about legacy telco OSS/BSS applications. In 2009, they became a Self-Employed Technology Consultant. In 2010, they returned to Tejas Software Inc. as a Technical Architect and ALM Practice Lead. In 2015, they were promoted to Technical Architect at Tejas Software Inc. and in 2020, they became an Independent Consultant. In 2022, they were appointed as the Non Executive Director at Tejas Software Inc., where they provide consulting on software process improvements using DevOps, Data Analysis, E-Commerce and Salesforce CRM.
