Piet Spiessens

Piet Spiessens has a diverse and extensive work experience. Piet started their career at Telenet in 1996, where they held various roles including Senior VP Product Marketing, Senior VP Innovation & Business Development, and VP Product Engineering. In 2010, they joined Liberty Global as VP Wireless Development, and in 2012, they co-founded MVNO Europe, where they served as the Vice Chairman of the Board. In 2017, they returned to Telenet as VP Innovation and Business Development. Piet also worked at imec as an Advisory member and at DNS Belgium as a Board Member and Chairman of the Board. Additionally, they have held positions at ISPA Belgium as the Vice Chairman of the Board, FITCE.be as an Advisory Board Member, and Vrije Universiteit Brussel as a VUB Fellow in the Faculty of Engineering. Piet is currently serving as a Strategic Committee Member at EURid.

Piet Spiessens earned their Ph.D. in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, from 1988 to 1993. Piet also holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the same university, which they obtained from 1984 to 1988. Additionally, they completed a Postgraduate Finance program at EHSAL Management School from 2017 to 2019. Piet also participated in an Executive Development Programme at IMD in 2014 and another one at Vlerick Business School from 2000 to 2001.
