Diana Nicoleta Popa

Diana Nicoleta Popa has significant experience in the field of natural language processing and research. Diana Nicoleta is currently working as a Senior NLP Research Engineer at Telepathy Labs. Previously, they served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Université Grenoble Alpes from December 2019 to December 2021, where their work focused on natural language understanding and information retrieval problems. During this time, they also had the opportunity to co-supervise Master-level internships.

Diana also worked as Teaching Staff at Campus Numérique in the Alps, contributing to the Data Asperger Programme - data science track in 2019 and 2020. Prior to this, they were a Research and Teaching Assistant at Université Grenoble Alpes from September 2018 to September 2019, where they organized and taught courses in Probability and Statistics, Algorithms, Programming, and Advanced Databases.

Their research experience includes positions as a Researcher/PhD Student at NAVER LABS Corp from August 2017 to August 2018, and at Xerox from March 2015 to August 2018. At Xerox, they focused on representation learning and contextualized meaning representation in the field of natural language understanding.

Diana's earlier work experience includes roles as a Research and Development Engineer and Research and Development Intern at Xerox, where they worked on event detection and clustering from news articles. Diana Nicoleta also held a scholarship position as a student at the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association from September 2011 to August 2013.

Additionally, Diana gained valuable experience as a Software Development Intern at Intelligent Solutions Group Timisoara in April and May 2010.

Diana completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Artificial Intelligence at Université Grenoble Alpes from 2015 to 2019. Prior to this, they pursued a Master's degree in Data Mining and Knowledge Management from 2011 to 2013. Diana Nicoleta attended multiple universities during this period, including Université Lumière Lyon 2 and Université Paris 6 UPMC in France, Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale in Italy, and Polytechnic University UPC in Spain.

Before their Master's degree, Diana obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from West University of Timisoara from 2008 to 2011. Diana Nicoleta also earned another Bachelor's degree in Economics from University Aurel Vlaicu Arad during the same period.

Furthermore, Diana completed their baccalaureate at National College Elena Ghiba Birta Arad from 2004 to 2008, focusing on Mathematics, Informatics, and English.

In addition to their formal education, Diana also holds several certifications. Diana Nicoleta obtained a certification in self-management from Learning Tree International in 2014.
