James McOrmond

James McOrmond is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in systems engineering and cloud networking. Currently serving as a Cloud Network Specialist at Telesat since November 2024, James focuses on ensuring connectivity within LEO projects. Prior to Telesat, James held various positions at Pivotree from 2011 to 2024, including Sr. Systems Engineer in the SRE/Platform Team and Systems Engineer in the DevOps team, contributing to critical projects such as environment deployment and monitoring suite implementation. James began a career in technology at Thinkwrap Commerce, which later merged with Pivotree, and has held roles ranging from Linux Systems Engineer to MySQL DBA & Linux Administrator at companies like The Pythian Group and Xandros. Educational credentials include a Computer Systems Technician degree from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology.
