Anita Williams has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles related to research, epidemiology, and public health.

From 2022, they have been working as a Research Officer at Telethon Kids Institute.

Prior to their current role, Anita worked at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Luxembourg as an Operational Research Officer from 2018 to 2022.

Before that, they served as an Epidemiological Activity Manager in Magburaka, Sierra Leone, with MSF in 2017. During their mission, they collaborated with the District Health Management Team (DHMT) Surveillance Office to enhance their disease surveillance system, conducted field investigations, and facilitated outbreak responses.

In 2016, Anita worked as a Field Researcher for MSF Belgium and Epicentre on the "Nsanje HIV Impact on Population Survey (NHIPS)" in Southern Malawi. Their responsibilities included managing survey teams, ensuring survey quality, and coordinating with logistics for movement schedules.

In the same year, they were a Research Assistant on a long-term survey focused on orthopedic chronic infections in war-wounded civilians in the Middle East. This project was a collaboration between MSF France and Epicentre.

Anita also gained experience as a Public Health Intern at the Foundation for Sustainable Development in western Kenya in 2015. Anita worked on projects related to laboratory diagnostics, infectious disease epidemiology, and data management.

In 2013 and 2014, they pursued a Master of Philosophy (Applied Epidemiology) (MAE) at The Australian National University.

Earlier in their career, Anita held roles as a Technical Assistant at PATHWEST LABORATORY MEDICINE WA from 2011 to 2012, and as a Biomedical Scientist at the NHS from 2009 to 2011. Anita also worked as a Technical Assistant at the Microbiological Diagnostic Unit (MDU) Public Health Laboratory from 2006 to 2009.

Anita Williams has a strong educational background in the field of health sciences. Anita obtained a Master of Philosophy in Applied Epidemiology from The Australian National University during the period of 2013-2014. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Infectious Diseases from The University of Western Australia from 2011 to 2013. Their undergraduate studies were completed at Monash University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Microbiology and Human Anatomy from 2004 to 2007.

In addition to their academic achievements, Anita has also obtained certifications in the healthcare industry. In February 2022, they completed the ICH GOOD CLINICAL PRACTICE E6 (R2) certification from the Global Health Training Centre. Furthermore, in February 2016, they received a certification in Protecting Human Research Participants from the National Institutes of Health.
