Biobank Coordinator - The Origins Project at Telethon Kids Institute

Courtney Kidd has a diverse work experience in the field of medical research. Courtney worked as a Research / Biobank Assistant at the Telethon Kids Institute from 2018 to present. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Western Australia from September 2018 to June 2019, where they focused on the impact of pharmacogenetic variation on drug metabolism and breast cancer outcomes. During this time, they also played a key role in establishing a centralized bio-repository data system for the team.

Before joining the University of Western Australia, Courtney worked at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research from 2016 to 2018. Courtney held multiple roles in the organization, including Laboratory Demonstrator and Laboratory Assistant. Courtney'sresponsibilities included conducting experiments and running programs in the Lotterywest BioDiscovery Laboratory.

Courtney also gained valuable experience as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Respiratory Health in 2016. In this role, they assisted with a project investigating the epigenetic and inflammatory impact of specific gene splicing events in dendritic cells of asthmatics.

Prior to that, Courtney worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Respiratory Health from 2013 to 2014. Here, they were involved in research into the causes and severity of asthma, and they played a key role in transitioning the Molecular Genetic Biobank to a digital platform.

In 2013, Courtney also worked as a Grant Application Assistant at the Lung Institute of Western Australia. Courtney'sresponsibilities included assisting researchers with grant applications for scientific research funding, particularly in the field of medical and clinical research.

Courtney began their professional career as a Swimming Instructor at Challenge Stadium, where they worked from 2008 to 2013.
