Elizabeth Chester has over 30 years of work experience in various roles, primarily in the fields of communications, media, and advocacy. Elizabeth began their career as a Presenter/Journalist at GWN in 1989 before moving on to work as a Media Officer at the Government Media Office in 1991. Elizabeth then joined Channel 9 as a Journalist/Producer in 1992 and later transitioned to a similar role at Seven West Media in 1997.

In 2000, Chester joined the Telethon Kids Institute, where they held multiple positions, including Head of Strategic Communications, Director of Communications and Development, Director of External Affairs, and Director of Partnerships and Engagement. In these roles, they played a vital role in driving fundraising efforts, enhancing the institute's reputation and influence, advocating for improved child health, and building strategic partnerships with various stakeholders.
