Karen Lombardi has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and organizations. Karen is currently serving as an Honorary Research Associate at Telethon Kids Institute since April 2023. Prior to this, they held the positions of Senior Research Officer and Project Coordinator at the same institute from August 2020 to October 2021, and as a Senior Research Officer from January 2021 onwards.
Before their tenure at Telethon Kids Institute, Karen worked as a Research Project Coordinator at the institute from May 2018 to May 2020. Karen also gained policy experience as a Policy Officer at the Department of Health (WA Health) from June 2017 to May 2018.
Karen has a strong academic background, having completed their PhD in the School of Medical and Health Sciences at Edith Cowan University from March 2014 to December 2017. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Child Health Promotion Research Centre, also at Edith Cowan University, from December 2012 to October 2014.
Karen started their career as a Library Officer at Kinross College, where they worked from an unknown start date until February 2010.
Karen Lombardi obtained their Bachelor of Health Science in Health Promotion and Nutrition from Edith Cowan University between 2010 and 2012. Karen then pursued their Honours degree in Health Promotion at the same university in 2013. From 2014 to 2017, they attended Edith Cowan University again and acquired their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health Promotion.
