Postdoctoral Researcher In Infectious Disease Modelling at Telethon Kids Institute

Katharine Senior has a diverse work experience in various academic and environmental organizations. Katharine is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Infectious Disease Modelling at the Telethon Kids Institute since May 2023. Prior to this, they were a Research Fellow in Plant Ecology at the University of Melbourne from May 2021 to May 2023. Katharine also worked as a PhD candidate and Casual Academic at the University of Melbourne from January 2017 to November 2020, and August 2018 to July 2020, respectively. Katharine gained valuable practical experience as a Bushland Management Team Member at Platypus Environmental Services from January 2015 to December 2016. Additionally, Katharine has worked as a Casual Academic at Deakin University in February 2016, and as a Contract Ecologist at Ecology Australia in March 2016. Katharine began their professional career as a Visitor Services Officer at Zoos Victoria from November 2014 to June 2015.

Katharine Senior completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Ecology from the University of Melbourne from 2017 to 2020. Before that, they obtained a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Honours) degree from Deakin University in 2014. Prior to their honours degree, they pursued a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Wildlife and Conservation Biology) from Deakin University from 2011 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, they earned a certification in HLTAID005 - Provide first aid in remote situations from Premium Health in September 2017.
