Keryn McKinnon

Keryn McKinnon has a diverse work experience in strategic communications and media roles. Keryn currently serves as the Head of Strategic Communications at Telethon Kids Institute since March 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Agency Director at Hunter Communications Pty. Ltd. from December 2021 to March 2023. As the Director of Strategic Communications at Presbyterian Ladies' College, Perth, they led strategic communications efforts from April 2017 to November 2021. Keryn also worked as the Manager of Government Media at the Premier of Western Australia's office from September 2015 to March 2017. Keryn served as a Senior Media Adviser at the Minister for Mental Health, Disabilities, Child Protection in May 2015. Additionally, they gained experience as an Account Manager at PPR Australia from September 2013 to April 2015. Before transitioning into communications, they worked at The West Australian in various senior roles, including News Editor and Lifestyle Features Editor, from February 1993 to June 2009. Keryn also served as the Editor of the Kalgoorlie Miner, a regional daily newspaper in Western Australia, from September 2000 to December 2002. From July 2009 to August 2013, they were the Business Manager for Duraseal, where they managed various aspects of the family business, including compliance, quality assurance, customer relations, and business development.
