Telethon Kids Institute
Marg O'Connell has extensive work experience in research and education design. Marg started their career in 2004 as an Education Designer at Monash University. From 2006 to 2011, they worked at Canberra Institute of Technology, where they held roles as an Education Designer and later as an Education Manager. During their time at Canberra Institute of Technology, they received the 2010 Chief Executive Award for change and innovation. In 2011, they worked as an Education Design Consultant. Since 2013, they have been employed at Telethon Kids Institute as a Senior Research Officer. Currently, they are a Research Fellow at Curtin University, a position they have held since 2017.
Marg O'Connell's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Arts, Communications, and English Literature from Murdoch University, which they obtained from 1992 to 1994. In 2000, they earned a Graduate Diploma in Tertiary and Adult Education from the same university. Marg further pursued their education at the University of Technology Sydney, where they completed a Masters degree in Education from 2007 to 2010. Additionally, in 2010, they obtained a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) from the Canberra Institute of Technology.
