Åke Edlund

Åke Edlund has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Åke currently holds the position of Head of Analytics IT Architecture at Telia since May 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Domain Architect for Analytics, BI, and AI at Telia. Åke also worked as a Data Scientist at Telia, where they were part of the Insights & Analytics team and had a focus on data engineering and finding new insights in data. Additionally, Åke has experience as a Lead Architect at Telia and an Advisor at Severalnines, where they provided guidance on Highly Available Database Clusters. Åke is also the Founder and Managing Partner of Pawn Promotion, a BigData and Cloud Computing consultancy firm. Åke has academic experience as a Senior Researcher and Group Lead at KTH, specializing in BigData Analytics and leading a team of researchers. Åke also served as the Coordinator for the KTH-SICS Cloud Innovation Center. In the past, Åke was a Co-founder and Managing Partner at SICS and Numeri Ltd, a video compression startup. Åke also held roles at EuroCloud Sweden, Aalto Venture Garage, Sony Ericsson, and Ericsson.

Åke Edlund earned a PhD in Numerical methods and quantum physics from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology from 1996 to 1999. Åke obtained a Tekn.Lic degree in Numerical methods and Quantum mechanics from Uppsala University from 1993 to 1996. Åke also pursued graduate studies in Computational and Applied Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley from 1994 to 1995, and at Rice University in 1993. Åke Edlund completed a part-time crash course at Stockholm School of Economics in 1999. In 2008, they obtained a Leadership certificate from FEI Företagsekonomiska Institutet. Additionally, Åke Edlund has various certifications in cloud computing and deep learning from Coursera, including Generative AI with Large Language Models, Cloud Architecture with Google Cloud Specialization, and Deep Learning Specialization, among others.
