Alisa Yurovsky

Alisa Yurovsky is a faculty member at Stony Brook University, currently serving as an IDEA Fellow and Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Informatics since September 2023. With a long-standing career, Alisa has also held the position of Manager of Business Development at Telinta since 2009. Previous roles at Stony Brook University include Postdoctoral Research Fellow from January 2021 to August 2023 and Bioinformatician from January 2013 to August 2015. Alisa gained additional experience as a Bioinformatician at the University of Geneva Medical School from January 2011 to November 2012. Earlier in the career, Alisa worked as a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Cadence Design Systems between April 2004 and June 2008, and as a Software Engineer at Neolinear from June 2001 to April 2004. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stony Brook University (2015-2020), an MS in Computer Science with a focus on Computational Biology from EPFL (2008-2010), and a BS in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University (1997-2001). Alisa's academic journey began at Taylor Allderdice High School, where studies were completed between 1994 and 1997.
