Dede Griffith has extensive work experience in various roles and positions. Currently, they serve as the Vice President of Workforce Development at Temple College since July 2021. In their previous role as Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs at Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College from July 2019 to July 2021, they demonstrated their expertise in academic and student affairs. Prior to that, Dede held the position of Chief Academic and Student Affairs Officer at Northwest Louisiana Technical College from September 2017 to July 2021. DEDE also gained valuable experience during their time at Lee College, where they served as Interim Vice President of Learning from May 2016 to September 2017, Director of Access & Student Success from January 2012 to September 2017, Chair of CADD & Engineering Technology Division from September 2009 to January 2012, CADD/Engineering Technology Lead Instructor from September 2002 to August 2009, and Adjunct Instructor in Drafting Technology from September 1996 to August 2002. Dede also worked as an Adjunct Professor in Organizational Leadership and Supervision at the University of Houston from September 2012 to January 2014. Prior to their career in education, they gained hands-on experience in the industry, working as a Senior Designer/Owner at Workhorse Drafting from February 1992 to August 2002, a Piping Designer at TTS, Inc. from September 1990 to January 1992, and a Process Technology Operator at Lyondell Petrochemical Co. from June 1989 to August 1990.
Dede Griffith pursued their Associate of Applied Science in Technology (AST) degree in Drafting/Design Engineering Technologies/Technicians from Lee College, which they completed between 1987 and 1990. DEDE then went on to earn their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Organizational Leadership & Supervision from the University of Houston, graduating from 2003 to 2005. Following this, they obtained their Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from the University of Houston, which they achieved between 2008 and 2010. Lastly, Dede Griffith undertook their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Professional Leadership in Education at the University of Houston, from 2013 to 2016.
