Alfred Landrum has a significant work history with various companies. Alfred started their career in 1998 as a Software Engineer at Be, Inc., where they maintained the Be Operating System's TCP/IP network stack. After that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Scale8, serving as the principal engineer for a scalable object storage service.
In 2003, Alfred joined Riverbed Technology as a Software Engineer, where they worked on the core engineering of the Riverbed Steelhead WAN optimization appliance. During their time at Riverbed, they held multiple roles, including Sales Engineer, Global Consulting Engineer, Manager of Global Consulting Engineers, and Technical Director of Engineering.
Later on, Alfred co-founded Sessionbox, Inc. as the VP of Engineering, raising seed investment for a novel approach to gather analytics and performance data on web applications. Alfred also joined Jut, Inc. as a Technical Lead through an acquisition of Sessionbox, Inc., where they architected and implemented the addition of Kafka and Zookeeper to the Jut engine data stack.
From 2016 to 2017, Alfred worked at Docker, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they implemented and maintained microservices in Python and Go to support Docker SaaS offerings. Alfred also played a role in the transition to a new backend billing system for all Docker SaaS services.
Alfred joined Sysdig in 2017 as a Technical Director, initially leading the engineering team for the Sysdig Secure product line. Alfred also played a key role in implementing a container image scanning solution and integrating Prometheus and Cortex components into the existing Sysdig monitoring platform.
In 2020, Alfred became the Vice President of Engineering at Brim Security, Inc., where they managed a 10-person team of frontend and backend developers. Alfred led the implementation and release of the Brim open-source desktop application and designed a SaaS backend to support user importable event data.
Currently, Alfred Landrum is a Software Design Engineer at Temporal Technologies, a position they assumed in 2021.
Alfred Landrum completed their undergraduate education in Electrical Engineering at Cornell University from 1994 to 1998.
