Erik Phelps

Erik Phelps is the EVP & Chief Administrative and Legal Officer at Tempus Labs. Erik has held this position since 2017. Prior to joining Tempus Labs, Phelps was the General Counsel at Epic from 2009 to 2017. From 2006 to 2009, they were a partner and attorney at Michael Best & Friedrich, LLP. Erik also served as the Technology Committee Chair during their time there. Phelps was the Associate General Counsel at Lands' End, Inc. from 2000 to 2006. Prior to that, they were an associate attorney at Dow Lohnes PLLC from 1997 to 1999 and then at Michael, Best & Friedrich, LLP from 1999 to 2000. Erik began their career as an attorney at Dow, Lohnes & Albertson, PLLC in 1997. In 1994, they became the Information Technology Director at Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan LLP. Prior to that, they worked as a Member Office Consultant for the U.S. House of Representatives, House Information Systems from 1992 to 1994.

Erik Phelps pursued a Juris Doctor degree at The George Washington University Law School and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management from Beloit College.

Erik Phelps reports to Eric Lefkofsky, Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Jim Rogers - CFO, Terron Bruner - Chief Commercial Officer, and Christina Antoniou - SVP, Head of Corporate Development.
