Danny Alexander is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the aquatic and environmental fields. Currently serving as a Senior Aquarist at the Tennessee Aquarium since June 1993, Danny has developed a deep expertise in aquatic ecosystems. Prior to this role, Danny worked as an accountant at Pennzoil from January 1981 to February 1986. Danny holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Oklahoma State University, earned between 1976 and 1980, and a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, completed from 1992 to 1996.

Located on the banks of the Tennessee River in Chattanooga and surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains, the Tennessee Aquarium tells the story of the river – following the path of a raindrop from the streams of an Appalachian Forest to the Gulf of Mexico – from the mountains to the sea. Although the Aquarium has grown in size and in animal population since it’s opening in 1992, its story and its mission as a private, non-profit institution have remained the same; ‘to inspire wonder, appreciation and protection of water and all life that it sustains.’
