Roy Franz

Roy Franz is an experienced software engineer with a focus on systems software and firmware development. Currently serving as a Principal Systems Software Engineer at Tenstorrent since August 2023, Roy previously held various engineering roles at Marvell Technology, including Principal Software Engineer where contributions included firmware and Linux emulation for the CN9XXX product family. Prior engagements involved leadership as a Lead SW Architect at Cavium Inc, where Roy developed secure boot firmware, and as a Software Engineer at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, contributing to the Linux team for The Machine project. Additionally, experience spans multiple roles in companies like Cavium Networks, Linaro, Broadstone Networks, Malibu Networks, Intel, and Sharewave, with a strong foundation in embedded systems, driver development, and ARM architecture. Roy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis.
