Markku Klami is a contemporary music composer with extensive experience in teaching and music pedagogy. Since October 2002, Markku Klami has worked as a composer, engaging in numerous collaborations and commissions both in Finland and internationally. Currently serving as a Music Specialist at Teosto, Markku Klami assists composers, authors, and publishers with music composition and arrangement issues. Additionally, Markku Klami holds the position of Chairperson of the Education Committee at The Finnish Music Foundation and teaches at both the Sibelius Academy and The Helsinki Conservatory of Music. Markku Klami is actively involved in various educational institutions, including the East Helsinki Music Institute and the Espoo Music Institute. Moreover, Markku Klami has held board positions with the Society of Finnish Composers and Music Finland, and has contributed to composition pedagogy projects at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. Educational qualifications include a Master of Music in Composition from the University of the Arts Helsinki and a Master of Philosophy in Musicology from the University of Turku.
