Joonhyung Choi

Joonhyung (JH) Choi is a highly experienced engineer with a robust background in nuclear design and mechanical engineering. Currently serving as Lead Principal Engineer at TerraPower LLC since August 2016, Joonhyung directs the Core Design Group for the Natrium Project, delivering technical leadership across teams focused on nuclear core thermal/hydraulic and mechanical design. Prior roles include Principal Mechanical Engineer and Manager of the Core Mechanical Design Group, where responsibilities included enhancing the safety and performance of the Travelling Wave Reactor (TWR). Joonhyung's previous experience at Westinghouse Electric Company involved conceptual design and performance evaluation of nuclear fuel systems, while earlier positions included teaching at Daeduk College and research at KEPCO Nuclear Fuel. Joonhyung holds a Master's degree in Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology from Hanyang University.
