Michael Slack

Michael Slack is a seasoned engineering professional with over 20 years of experience in structural and canopy design, currently serving as the Vice President of Canopy Design and Engineering at DSD Renewables since June 2023. At DSD, Michael oversees a team of Canopy Designers, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle from origination to construction. Prior to this role, Michael held the position of Senior Structural Engineer at RBI Solar Inc. since March 2004, where responsibilities included engineering design, project estimating, and management for solar PV installations. Earlier experience includes working as a Structural Engineer at LJB Inc. and as an Engineering Intern at Carpenter Wright Engineers, alongside an educational background that includes a Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
