Nicholas Polak

Nicholas Polak is an experienced professional currently serving as Team Leader Fund Management at the Tertiary Education Commission since 2010, leading a team that oversees $2.8 billion in funding allocations for tertiary providers and advising the TEC Board of Commissioners. Previously, Nicholas held various roles at the Ministry of Education from 2006 to 2010, including Senior Analyst for Sector Performance, Business Support Manager, and Senior Advisor for Planning and Monitoring. Nicholas's extensive career in government service, spanning nearly three decades from 1978 to 2006, includes positions with the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, and NZ Post Office/Telcom, focusing on financial management, procurement, and administrative processes. Nicholas earned a Bachelor of Business Information with a focus on Information Systems and Information Management from Massey University from 1998 to 2003, and was recognized as a Massey Scholar in 2002.
