Ashwin Thombre

Ashwin Thombre is a Sr Staff Camera Systems Engineer at Tesla, where they lead a team of optical engineers in designing high-volume optical products for automotive headlamps. Their current work focuses on optimizing optical design strategies and improving workflow efficiency through in-house tools. Previously, Ashwin held various engineering roles at North American Lighting from 2018 to 2020 and contributed as a graduate student research assistant at the University of Michigan. They hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree from Mumbai University.
