Samrat Vuppalanchi is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in product support and development, particularly in the automotive industry. Currently serving as a Staff Product Support Engineer for Driver Assistance Systems (Tesla Autopilot) at Tesla since May 2014, previous roles include Senior Product Support Engineer within the same division. Prior to Tesla, Samrat held the position of Product Development Engineer - Team Lead at Navistar Inc, where responsibilities included overseeing the complete product development life cycle of various electronic components. Earlier experience includes a QA Engineer role at Vaktech Corporation LLC, focusing on manual and automation testing, as well as teaching mathematics and guiding engineering students as an Adjunct Faculty / Lab Instructor at Temple University. Samrat holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Temple University and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.

Tesla believes the faster the world stops relying on fossil fuels and moves towards a zero-emission future, the better. Additionally, they market and sell vehicles to consumers through a network of company owned stores and galleries. Tesla operates as two segments: one focused on automotive which includes its Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles, and the second on energy generation and storage which includes Powerwall and Megapack lithium-ion batteries. Today, Tesla is led by Elon Musk, however, other notable founders of the company are Martin Eberhard, JB Straubel, Marc Tarpenning, and Ian Wright. The company has manufacturing facilities in the US, Germany and China and has operations across Asia Pacific and Europe. Tesla is headquartered in Austin, Texas.
