Christopher Bernal has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Christopher started their career as a Co-Founder/President of the Marketing Club at UC Merced, where they provided insight and direction to the organization and partnered with local businesses for digital marketing support. Christopher also served as an Advisor for the club, mentoring students and focusing on analytics, strategy, and visual design. Additionally, Christopher worked as a Vice President at Tesserakt Technologies, where they gained experience in accounting, finance, and business management. Christopher was responsible for making strategic decisions, supporting the team, and investing in the company's growth. Christopher also held the position of Vice President at the Merced Youth Soccer Association.
In the field of esports and gaming, Christopher worked as a Co-Founder/Director of Marketing and Events for the USF Dons Esports, where they planned and executed events, built industry relationships, and managed social media content. Christopher also founded and served as the President of the USF Sport Marketing Club, achieving sponsorship agreements and implementing partner acquisition plans.
Christopher's experience also includes roles such as a Social Media Manager for El Capitan Hotel, Mainzer, & The Tioga, where they developed social media profiles, created content calendars, and collaborated with the local community for digital engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic. Christopher worked as a Product and Marketing Analyst at Humen, providing input and data for pitch decks and organizing user testing sessions. In 2021, Christopher joined the National Science Foundation (NSF) as an IoT4Ag Fellow, gaining firsthand experience in the research process, including research planning, interview protocol development, data analysis, and writing. Christopher Bernal has a strong education background in management and business-related fields. Christopher obtained a high school diploma from Eastside High School in 2013. Following that, they attended the University of California, Merced, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Management and Business Economics in 2017.
Wanting to further their education, Christopher pursued a Master's Degree in Sport Management at the University of San Francisco from 2017 to 2019. During this time, they also acquired additional certifications in Finance for Small Business and Small Business Marketing from Lynda.com in December 2016.
Christopher's academic journey did not stop there. Christopher is currently pursuing their PhD at the University of California, Merced, specializing in the Management of Complex Systems, with an expected completion date in 2024. With a strong foundation in business and management combined with their ongoing doctoral studies, Christopher Bernal is well-prepared to contribute to the field of complex systems management in the future.
