Richard H.

Richard H. is an experienced ecologist currently working at Test Valley Borough Council since February 2024. Prior to this role, Richard served as a Marine Protected Areas Policy Officer at the Marine Conservation Society from August 2022 to February 2024 and as a Planning & Environment Officer with the Royal Yachting Association from October 2019 to August 2022. Richard's earlier experience includes working as a Conservation Officer, Biosecurity & Senior Researcher at RSPB, where coordination of the Seabirds Count! census took place. Richard also has a background as a Project Manager at Ocean Coast Terrestrial since January 2007, focusing on environmental consultancy across several countries and managing conservation and maritime project development. Richard's initial career included a role as a Senior Research Officer at the European Maritime Safety Agency, where the EMSA HNS Action Plan was developed. Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree in Biodiversity Conservation from Bournemouth University and an MSc in Marine Resource Development & Protection with a focus on marine ecology from Heriot-Watt University.
