Brian Marron

VP, Chemistry at Tetra Therapeutics

Dr. Brian Marron brings over 28 years of leadership in medicinal chemistry and drug discovery to Tetra Therapeutics. Prior to joining Tetra, he was a drug discovery consultant. Before consulting Brian was Director, Worldwide Medicinal Chemistry for Pfizer where he led the North Carolina based chemistry and bioanalytical teams after Pfizer acquired Icagen, Inc. As a Senior Director of Chemistry at Icagen he led early discovery chemistry and chemistry teams in Icagen’s collaborations with Pfizer and Abbott and was involved in development activities for Icagen’s clinical epilepsy compounds. While at Icagen with collaborators he played key scientific and leadership roles in the discovery of selective Nav1.8 inhibitors and first in class selective Nav1.7 inhibitors. He began his career at GSK where he rose to Senior Research Investigator, contributing to several projects including the early discovery and leading optimization efforts for 7TM GPCR targets. Brian has been part of the discovery of several pre-clinical and clinical compounds.

Dr. Marron holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He conducted postdoctoral work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned his BS in chemistry from the University of Idaho. Brian has more than eighty patents, papers, posters, and presentations.
