Kirsten Compary

AVP of Student Affairs at Texas A & M University-Kingsville

Kirsten Compary serves as the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs / Dean of Students. She assists the campus community by serving as student ombudsman. As a member of the Student Affairs leadership team, she provides insight and guidance on student leadership development opportunities, welcome week and orientation programs, programming initiatives, community outreach, fraternities and sororities, clubs and organizations, and student conduct. She maintains a liaison relationship with Aramark Food Services, and Follett Bookstore. Compary also is responsible for a number of delegated projects, revisions to the student handbook and other student publications, oversees the Honor Code, and coordination of the student awards processes. She also serves as the advisor for the Student Government Association.

Prior to joining A&M-Kingsville, Compary served as the associate dean of students at University of South Dakota where she managed housing and student activities on a campus of 9,600 students. She also served as acting dean of students for two years where she managed vendor partnerships including Aramark and Barnes and Noble. Additional work in higher education was spent working in various positions of housing and residence life.
