Phillip Ray has been the Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs at TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY SYSTEM,THE since October 2012. Prior to that, they were the Associate Vice President - Finance at Texas A&M University from December 2006 to October 2012. Before that, they were the Assistant Vice President - Business Affairs at Texas Tech University from November 2001 to December 2006.

Phillip Ray received an MBA in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. Phillip also completed the Governor's Executive Development Program at the University of Texas / LBJ School of Public Affairs and the Executive Leadership and Management Institute at Stanford University / WACUBO. Additionally, they participated in the Institute for Management and Leadership in Education at Harvard University. Phillip Ray's undergraduate degree is from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Phillip Ray reports to John Sharp, Chancellor. They are on a team with Rick Avery - Interim Director, AgriLife Extension Service, Charlie Hrncir - Chief Auditor, and Cliff Lamb - Interim Director, AgriLife Research.
