Texas Attorney General
Ian Lancaster has extensive experience in environmental law and litigation. Currently serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the Environmental Protection Division of the Texas Attorney General's office since March 2024, Ian represents Texas state agencies in disputes and appeals related to environmental law and public utilities. Prior to this role, Ian worked as an attorney at Allensworth | Texas Construction Lawyers, advising on construction disputes, and served as an associate attorney at Germer Beaman & Brown PLLC, defending major auto manufacturers in products liability cases and providing counsel for various claims. Ian's career in the Texas Attorney General's office began in August 2015, with responsibilities in civil environmental enforcement and legal research during tenure as a law clerk. Ian holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from The University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from The University of Texas at Austin.
