Geir-Eilif Kalhagen

Geir-Eilif Kalhagen is an accomplished maritime and transportation professional with extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. Currently serving as the Director of the Maritime Division at the Texas Department of Transportation, Kalhagen focuses on enhancing Texas' maritime system through collaboration with policy-makers and industry stakeholders. As the President of BlackFin International LLC, expertise in global strategies is applied to local contexts. Previously, Kalhagen held significant positions including CEO of the Port of Longview, Board Member for the Washington State Freight Mobility Strategic Investment Board, and First Vice President for the Americas at the International Association of Ports and Harbors. An educator, Kalhagen also served as an Adjunct Professor at Lamar University, contributing to the Master of Science in Port and Terminal Management program. Kalhagen holds an MBA from the University of Oregon and a BA in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of South Alabama.
