Scott Nelson

Scott Nelson, P.E., PTOE, is an accomplished transportation engineer currently serving as the Advanced Transportation Planning Director at the Texas Department of Transportation since April 2019. With a strong background in project management and engineering, Scott held positions as Project Manager and Project Engineer at Pape-Dawson Engineers from January 2012 to April 2019. In addition to professional roles, Scott has contributed to the Texas ITE as a Board Member since January 2021, ascending to roles including Past President and President. Scott's early career includes experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute and a Technical Intern at PBS&J International Inc. Scott holds both a Master’s Degree in Transportation and Highway Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.
