Sonya Hernandez

Sonya Hernandez has over 17 years of experience working in environmental project management and geology. Sonya previously served as an Environmental Geologist at the State of Indiana's Department of Environmental Management from June 2004 to December 2006. Following this, they joined the Texas Department of Transportation in December 2006 as an Environmental Project and Contract Manager. Sonya gradually progressed to the role of Project Delivery Manager in January 2011, and currently holds the position of Project Delivery Section Director in the Environmental Affairs Division, a role they have held since June 2023.

Sonya Hernandez completed their Bachelor of Arts in Geology and Studio Art at Colorado College from 1997 to 2001. Sonya furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Science in Geology from Indiana University Bloomington from 2001 to 2003.
