Howard K. Schramm

Mr. Schramm is the Vice President for Administration, Finance, and Risk Management. As the lead administrative liaison between Texas Heart Institute and its affiliated entities in executing key business development initiatives, he works closely with the leadership teams of THI’s clinical and academic affiliates.

Howard has more than two decades of experience in healthcare finance, corporate finance, and healthcare operations. His strong interpersonal skills have contributed to the success of many strategic initiatives working with both internal and external constituencies.

Howard served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System from 2002 to 2007 and was a member of the senior management team responsible for a $1 billion revenue healthcare system. In this role, he financed and assisted in the construction and opening of two new hospitals and the Texas Heart Institute, Denton A. Cooley Building. He also served as a member of the executive committee of Kelsey Seybold Clinic, a 300-member private physician group in Houston.
