Ashkan Abbey, MD

Director of Clinical Research at TEXAS RETINA ASSOCIATES

Dr. Ashkan Abbey has been in the medical field since 2010, when they began their role as an Ophthalmology Resident at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. In 2013, they moved to Associated Retinal Consultants - William Beaumont Hospital, where they worked as a Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellow. In 2015, they began working at Texas Retina Associates, where they served as Director of Clinical Research and Surgical and Medical Retina Specialist. In 2016, they began their current role as Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Ashkan Abbey, MD completed their MD at Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained an AB in Biology from Harvard University from 2001 to 2005. In 2015, they were awarded the Diplomate from the American Board of Ophthalmology.
