Portia Talley

Portia Talley serves as General Counsel for the Texas State Teachers Association since July 2021, supporting small businesses through Portia Talley Law PLLC as founder since April 2018. Talley's legal expertise encompasses entertainment, trademark, copyright, labor and employment law, and business transactions. Previous roles include Interim Staff Attorney at Round Rock ISD and Attorney/Mediator at PI Educational, Counseling & Enrichment Services. Talley's early career involved teaching French at Killeen ISD, where responsibilities included drafting academic policies, and practicing law at the Law Office of Portia A. Jones and The McAleer Law Firm. Education credentials include a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law and a BA in International Comparative Studies and French from Duke University.
