C. Balam-Kuk Solís

C. Balam-Kuk Solís has a diverse and extensive work experience. They have worked as a Technology Mentor at Rewriting the Code since 2023. Prior to that, they held various roles at Texas State University, including Associate Vice President of Technology Innovation and Associate Vice President of Instructional Technologies Support. In these positions, they led a team and focused on promoting excellence in teaching and learning through the use of digital tools. They also served on the Information Technology Council. Additionally, Solís has served on the Higher Ed CIO Advisory Committee at RTM Business Group and as a Member of the Board of Advisors at Rosalyn.ai. Earlier in their career, they worked at Rice University, where they held roles such as Assistant Director of Academic Technology Services, Manager of Educational Technologies, and Instructional Technology Consultant.

C. Balam-Kuk Solís earned a Ph.D. in Biology from Rice University from 1988 to 1993. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts in Biology from Rice University from 1983 to 1988. They completed their Bachelor of Science in Biology at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala from 1977 to 1983. Additionally, Solís has acquired multiple certifications, including CD-Trained Practitioner from the Project Management Institute, Community Call Presenter from the M365 Platform Community, and various courses from LinkedIn and IDEO U in areas such as gamification, design thinking, and Microsoft Power Platform.
