Casey Smith

Casey Smith is an accomplished professional in the field of materials science and engineering, currently serving as the Manager of Shared Research Operations at Texas State University since September 2013. In this role, Casey leads a team that supports the university's research, education, and outreach missions through the management of complex analysis and nano fabrication equipment. Additionally, Casey has held the position of Cleanroom Director, focusing on advancing innovative nanotechnology solutions by leveraging expertise in materials, characterization, process integration, and equipment management. Prior to Texas State University, Casey worked as a Research Scientist at KAUST and SEMATECH, concentrating on device layout, materials characterization, and solid-state device integration. Academic credentials include a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of North Texas and a Master’s Degree in Physics with a minor in Chemistry from Texas State University, complemented by a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Geology from The University of Texas at Austin.
